An “Off” Day….

July 30, 2012 by DanicasDaily 5 Comments

Happy Monday all!  Thanks for all the fun comments on our Lake Tahoe Camping trip and bear sighting.  We had a blast having a totally active vacation biking, hiking and walking everywhere which made it totally worth it being tired all day today.  I gave myself permission to sleep in and take the day off since we worked out all weekend long.

I think it did sort of throw off my day from being in the “Simply Filling” (SF) zone as I found myself using way more WPA in one day than I like to.   But, I enjoyed every bite, counted it and moved on!

I wasn’t super hungry this morning so I decided to have breakfast in two parts.

I got my caffeine fix with a Dirty Coconut Iced Coffee and  banana  (SF + 2 WPA) – 2 points+.

The thing was I never really got hungry for my actual breakfast so I just went with my mid morning snack ~ watermelon and a lite Sargento string cheese (SF) – 1 points+

I had a business lunch today at Steamer’s Coffee and Tea Exchange ~ one of the places I have absolutely fell in love with in Old Town Sacramento.

I love that you can eat outside and that you can get fizzy water with your meal.

There are several Simply Filling Items on their menu that you can order, but, I had their Cobb Salad on my mind and nothing could change it – WPA and all.  I totally blame the AVOCADO ranch dressing for my addiction Open-mouthed smile

I modify their turkey cobb to add chicken and swap the stinky cheese for low-fat swiss.

Romaine, chicken, chopped egg, avocado, bacon, tomato, swiss, avocado dressing

(SF+5 WPA) – 10 points+

On our way back, we stopped at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory.  I succeeded in not buying anything, but, I gave into trying 1 slice of a Rocky Road Caramel Apple. (SF+2 WPA) – 2 WPA

I brought a Fage 0% yogurt for snack, but, ate what I really wanted instead – a pluot and nectarine.

As I was driving home, The Husband to say let’s go out to Panera and cook tomorrow instead. I went with my usual You Pick Two.

I started with their low-fat vegetarian black bean soup which makes me think of tacos and adding salsa every single time I eat it. (SF)

Then, ordered the BBQ Chicken Salad with the dressing on the side.  This salad had enough flavor with the BBQ Sauce, corn, red peppers, poblanos and black beans that I didn’t need it.

SF+2 WPA ~ 1 for the tortilla chips and 1 for the BBQ sauce.

I was kind of bummed when they told me they were out of apples, but, I took it as a sign that it was meant for me to get the bread Open-mouthed smile (SF+5 WPA)

My entire meal is 14 points+.

IMG_9003

STATS (12 am – 930 pm):

  • 2,131 calories burned
  • 4,344 steps taken
  • 16 WPA used, 28 WPA remaining (29 daily points+)

I actually like counting my points+ while doing Simply Filling because it helps me to see that even when I think I had an “Off Day”, I really didn’t do so bad points+ wise.

Tomorrow is definitely going to be a better day.  Off to catch some zzzzz’s so I can get up and bond with the treadmill again.

Night all!

The coconut and sometimes mocha that you get in your coffee, is it sugar free? I see it was 2 points is that for 1 pump or 2? Thx, Lia

      HI Lia,

No, I do not use sugar free syrups but you could.

You can have 2 pumps of any of the regular sugar syrups including the mocha for 1 points+. I add an additional points+ for a splash of half and half.

Oh Panera and their bread! Gets me every time. As does their cheddar broccoli soup. I just know if I walk into Panera I have to budget both of those into my day. Yum.

      HI Sawn,

Anytime you make your drink dirty, it means you add a pump or two of mocha.

I order mine as a Venti Iced Coffee with 1 pump mocha and 1 pump coconut to make a Venti Iced dirty coffee.

You can have 2 pumps of any of the regular sugar syrups including the mocha for 1 points+. I add an additional points+ for a splash of half and half.
